How to change your "Open file explorer to:" option
The purpose of this article is to walk users through the steps of setting/changing your option for which page is opened by default in Windows File Explorer. This is particularly helpful if you find yourself often choosing a different option than the "Home" page (Example: OneDrive).
How to change your default open page:
- Open File Explorer by clicking the folder icon or searching for it in your search bar:
- Click the 3 Dots and choose "Options"
- Click the dropdown next to "Open File Explorer to:" to see all options available, then select a preference and hit "Apply":
- DONE!
Please note: You do not need admin permission to do this as its low impact and normal navigation behavior. However, you may need to close and re-open your File Explorer to see the change. if you have any trouble with applying these settings or if you have any questions or concerns, please Submit a ticket and IT will be happy to help!
